PARA ATHLETE SA NAT’L SPORTS SUMMIT

MAGIGING panauhin sa 11th session ng National Sports Summit 2021 ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) si Filipina powerlifting icon Adeline Dumapong-Ancheta.

Ibabahagi ng 4-time Asian Para Games silver medalist at 7-time ASEAN Para Games gold medalist sa summit sa Abril 28 ang kanyang trabaho bilang bahagi ng Philippine Paralympic Committee (PPC) na nagtataguyod sa mga karapatan ng para athletes.

Bilang kauna-unahang Pinoy na nagwagi ng medalya sa Paralympic Games noong 2000, at kinatawan ang bansa sa Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), London (2012), at Rio (2016) editions, tumulong din si Dumapong-Ancheta sa pag-lobby sa Republic Act 10699 o ang National Athletes and Coaches Benefits and Incentives Act na nilagdaan noong 2015.

“She is one of our most accomplished athletes who never relinquished their causes, especially in the area of inclusivity and disability. It is a must for this sports summit to include our para athletes who play a big role in Philippine sports,” wika ni PSC Chairman William Ramirez.

Bibigyang inspirasyon din ni Dumapong-Ancheta, na pinamumunuan ang musical performing group Rondalla On Wheels, at board member ng Tahanang Walang Hagdanan sa Cainta, Rizal, ang mahigit sa 800 registrants ng summit sa kanyang athletic journey.

Ang National Sports Summit 2021 ay isang weekly series ng sports-centered lecture-fora na idinadaos sa pamamagitan ng Zoom video conferencing platform tuwing Miyerkoles, 1 pm-3 pm. CLYDE MARIANO
