UMAABOT na sa 10 pamantasan at kolehiyo sa Maynila ang pinahintulutang magkaroon ng pisikal na klase sa paaralan para sa kanilang mga kursong may kinalaman sa medisina at ibang allied health programs.

Ito ay matapos na pagbigyan ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ang kahilingan  ng apat pang unibersidad sa lungsod na makapagdaos na rin ng limitadong face-to-face classes bilang tugon sa pinaiiral na mandatory health and safety  protocols dahil COVID-19 pandemic.

Kabilang  ang University of the Philippines (UP)-Manila,  National University (NU),  Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) at St.  Jude College (SJC) na makapagsagawa ng  face-to-face classes para sa kanilang  medical and allied health programs.

Ang nasabing hakbang ay bilang tugon  sa pangangailangan ng bansa sa mga karagdagang doktor, nurses at iba pang medical professionals ngayong panahon ng pandemya.

Una nang inaprubahan ni Moreno ang kahilingan ng University of Santo Tomas, Centro Escolar University, Chinese General Hospital Colleges, Manila Theological College – College of Medicine, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila  (PLM) College of Medicine at Metropolitan Medical Center College of Arts and Sciences, para makapagsagawa ng face-to-face classes at clinical training o internship.

Nabatid na pinahintulutan ng alkalde ang kahilingan ng mga naturang unibersidad sa isang pulong sa Manila City Hall, dahil na rin sa mahalagang papel ng mga nasa medical profession at allied healthcare services ngayong kasalukuyang may health emergency situation ang bansa.

Hiniling din niya sa mga kinatawan ng mga paaralan na hikayatin ang kanilang mga faculty members at mga estudyante na magpabakuna na para magkaroon sila ng karagdagang proteksiyon laban sa COVID-19.VERLIN RUIZ
