MAGI-INVEST ng P10 billion ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Maynila upang lumikha ng trabaho, makapagpatayo ng disenteng pabahay at mapaganda ang mga public schools sa loob ng dalawang taon.

Ito ang inanunsyo ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, kung saan naglinya na rin ito ng mga plano kung paano tutugunan ang 15-taon paglobo ng populasyon sa kabisera ng bansa.

“Para magkaroon ng oportunidad ang mga kababayan natin. Di lang natin binibigyan ng trabaho ang tao kundi mahahagip pa natin na patuloy malabanan at magkaron ng pagkakataon ang mga nangungupahan at walang sariling bahay,” ani Moreno.

Ayon pa kay Moreno, magtatayo ang pamahalaang lungsod ng 1,500 units ng condominium sa mga susunod na buwan.

Kaugnay naman ng planong mapantayan ng mga public school ang private schools, sinabi ni Moreno na: “We will try to make a difference.

Ipakikita natin ang paggawa ng paaralan na hindi lang for the sake na me magawa.”

Nangako ang alkalde na ang gagawing pagbabago at siguradong hindi mapapahiya ang public schools kung ikukumpara sa private schools.

Hangad din Moreno na makapagpatayo ng public schools na ten-storey, fully-airconditioned, may elevator at kumpleto ng pasilidad tulad ng tinatamasa ng mga mag-aaral sa private school.

Samantala, napuna din ng alkalde na maraming mga residente na nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa pandemya at tiniyak nito na agad na gagawa ng mga hakbang bago pa magsulputan ang mga magkaproblema sa lungsod.

“Pag may trabaho may pitsa. Pag may pitsa, may chicha. Mahirap magtrabaho pero mas mahirapang nakahilata. Masakit sa likod tapos nga­nga,” sabi pa ng alkalde.

Nangako rin ang alkalde na mananatiling business-friendly ang Maynila upang makahikayat ng mga investor at trader na magbukas ng kanilang negosyo sa lungsod at upang makalikha ng trabaho para sa mga residente.
