“PATULOY TAYONG MAGTULUNGAN TUNGO SA MULING PAG-AHON,” — BONG GO GIVES IMMEDIATE RELIEF TO MORE TYPHOON CARINA VICTIMS IN PASIG CITY

In the aftermath of Typhoon Carina, which recently ravaged parts of the country, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go swiftly responded by visiting the affected areas and providing immediate relief to the victims.

On July 25, just a day after the typhoon struck, Go personally delivered aid to affected families in Pasig City. Demonstrating his commitment to supporting those in need, he ensured that the residents received timely assistance.

To sustain his efforts, Senator Go has continuously deployed his Malasakit Team to the most affected areas, including another mission in Barangay Bagong Ilog on Saturday, July 27.

In coordination with Barangay Captain Alexis Torres and Kagawad Kobe Felicia, Go’s team distributed food packs to 150 families in Barangay Bagong Ilog. The aid came from Go’s own personal resources reflecting his own efforts in helping those in need.

“This is just a small part of what I can do to help,” said Go. “Rest assured, I will work closely with the government to extend further assistance to those affected by this disaster. Patuloy tayong magtulungan para sa inyong pag-ahon.”

Senator Go’s proactive and compassionate response underscores his commitment to public service and his unwavering support for his fellow Filipinos in times of crisis.

The senator also underscored the urgent need to enhance disaster recovery and resilience, drawing attention to Senate Bill No. 188, his proposed legislation aimed at establishing the Department of Disaster Resilience (DDR) that would focus on comprehensive strategies to improve disaster preparedness if enacted into law.

Go also highlighted SBN 2451, the Ligtas Pinoy Centers bill, primarily sponsored by Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, with Go as a co-sponsor and one of its authors. This proposed legislation seeks to establish permanent, fully equipped mandatory evacuation centers across the nation.

In addition to Pasig City, Go has extended his support to typhoon-affected communities in numerous areas, such as Hagonoy, Calumpit, and Meycauayan City in Bulacan; various cities in Metro Manila, including Manila, Marikina, Malabon, Caloocan, and Navotas; and Taytay, Rizal.
