MAGPAPADALA ng note verbale sa China si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. upang linawin ang magkakasalungat na pahayag ng China Coast Guard at ng Philippine Navy kasunod ng insidente malapit sa Pag-asa Island.

“Yes, I think that’s what we need to do because… when it was first reported to me by the Chief of Staff, I asked him to immediately call his… the Philippine, the military attaché in the Chinese embassy and to get a report,” tugon ni Pangulong Marcos sa mga reporter.

Una nang ipinayo ni National Security Adviser Secretary Clarita Carlos ang pagpapadala ng note verbale hinggil sa insidente.

Sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na dapat maresolba ang usapin kaya magpapadala siya ng note verbale.

“And hindi nagtugma ‘yung report ng Philippine Navy at saka ‘yung report na galing sa China because the word ‘forcibly’ was used in the Navy – in the Philippine Navy report. And that was not the characterization in the Chinese Navy report or the report coming from China. So we have to resolve this issue,” diin ng Pangulo.

Pagtitiyak naman ng Pangulong Marcos na may tiwala siya sa Philippine Navy at nais lamang niyang alamin ang panig ng China.

“So we’ll have to find a way to resolve this. This is one of the things, this kind of incidents are some of the things that

I’m glad that I’m going to Beijing early January because these are the things that we need to work out,” ayon kay Marcos.

Dagdag pa ng Punong Ehekuibo na ayaw niya ang miscalculations at ang pagnanais na malaman ang panig ng China ay upang hindi na maulit pa ang insidente sa mga susunod na panahon. EVELYN QUIROZ
