Mandaluyong City. On December 28, 2021, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Vice Chairperson and General Manager Royina Marzan Garma, together with Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector, Ms. Julieta F. Aseo and Assistant General Manager for Branch Operations Sector Atty. Lauro A. Patiag turned over Php67,074,210.96 as part of its Mandatory Contributions to various partner institutions.
The turnover ceremony was held at the PCSO parking area, Conservatory Bldg, Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
Recipients of the mandatory contributions are the Philippine National Police with
Php25,877,837.88; the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) received Php24.672.535.90, Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) with Php9,608,217.20, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) with Php6,764,003.19 and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) received Php151,616.79.
PCSO reiterate that through its Mandatory Contributions, the agency does not only help individuals in need of medical assistance but it also giving funds to the government institutions through the mandatory contributions.
GM Garma said, this charity share is not a financial support to fund its daily operations but it is intended to support their medical and health programs. GM Garma further said that PCSO can only sustain its financial commitments to various institutions, such as this Mandatory contributions if the agency continues to generate more revenue through its “Larong May Puso” like STL, lotto, Keno and Scratch-it tickets.
