MATIKAS na sinimulan ni Nesthy Petecio ang kampanya ng Philippine boxing team sa Tokyo Olympics nang gapiin si Marcelat Sakobi Matshu ng Democratic Republic of Congo via unanimous decision Sabado sa Kokugikan Arena.

Apat na judges ang nagbigay ng iskor na 30-27 pabor kay Petecio, habang ang nalalabing judge ay nagkaloob ng 29-28 para sa Davao native boxer.

Umusad si Jang Jun sa quarterfinals kung saan makakaharap niya si Adrian Vicente Yunta ng Spain.

May tsansa pa si Barbosa na ma-relegate sa repechage at sumabak para sa bronze medal kapag pumasok ang kanyang katunggali sa finals.
