TUMAAS ang dollar reserves ng bansa noong Setyembre sa likod ng pagpasok ng foreign currency.
Ayon kay Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno, ang gross international reserves ay sumirit ng $130 million sa $86.16 billion hanggang end-September 2019 mula sa $86.03 billion sa naunang buwan.
Bukod sa foreign currency deposits ng pamahalaan, ang pagtaas ay nagmula rin sa kita mula sa investments sa ibang bansa.
“The end-September 2019 level of gross international reserves serves as an ample external liquidity buffer and is equivalent to 7.5 months’ worth of imports of goods and payments of services and primary income,” sabi ni Diokno.
“It is also equivalent to 5.4 times the country’s short-term external debt based on original maturity and 3.9 times based on residual maturity.”
Ang net international reserves ay tumaas din ng $130 million sa $86.15 billion hanggang end-September 2019 mula sa end-August 2019 level na $86.02 billion.
