SA IKA-8 sunod na buwan ay tumaas ang gross international reserves (GIR) ng bansa noong Hunyo.
Sa ulat ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), ang reserves ng Filipinas hanggang noong end-June ay nasa $85.38 billion, mas mataas ng $0.02 bil-lion sa naunang buwan.
Mas mataas din ito ng 10 percent sa $77.52 billion na naitala sa kahalintulad na panahon noong nakaraang taon.
“The month-on-month increase in the GIR level was due mainly to inflows arising from the 1) revaluation gains from the BSP’s gold holdings resulting
from the increase in the price of gold in the international market, 2) National Government’s net foreign currency deposits, 3) BSP’s foreign ex-change operations, and 4) BSP’s income from its investments abroad,” ayon sa central bank.
Ang numero, ayon pa sa BSP, ay sapat para sa 7.4 months na halaga ng import of goods at payments of services and primary income.
Ang June GIR ay katumbas din ng 5.1 beses ng short-term external debt ng bansa.
