LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Tatlumpu’t dalawang bansa at halos half-a-thousand athletes at officials ang magbabakbakan sa 16 araw na aksiyon sa FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship (MWCH) na iho-host ng Pilipinas sa 2025.
At kumpiyansa ang FIVB—Féderacion de International Volleyball— na kaya ng Pilipinas na maging mahusay na solo host ng world championship.
“Today, you will write history again! For the first time ever, the Philippines will host the prestigious FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in 2025!” wika ni FIVB president Ari Graça sa paggagawad ng hosting rights sa Pilipinas noong Miyerkoles sa FIVB castle sa harap ng Lake Geneva dito.
“In an open bidding process, you have overcome many strong bidders to win this race,” sabi ni Graça. “ And I am sure you will extend your warm hospitality to all 32 participating men’s teams and the many thousands of international fans who will come to your country in 2025.”
Dagdag pa niya: “All of this would not be possible without the hard work of the National Federation and the strong support of the government.”
Ang FIVB MWCH ay nakatakda sa September 12-28, 2025, kung saan ang draw ay gaganapin eksaktong bago ang unang serve sa September 12 ngayong taon sa Manila.
Pinangunahan ni Senadora Pia Cayetano ang 14-member Philippine bid team na pinamunuan ni Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon “Tats” Suzara at suportado ni Philippine Ambassador to Switzerland Bernard Faustino La Madrid Dy habang nagpadala si Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco ng mensahe ng full support sa hosting na nakuha ng Pilipinas laban sa 31 iba pang mga bansa.
“I am ready to accept the responsibility and the privilege for the Philippines to host the Men’s World Championship in 2025,” ayon kay Suzara. “It shall definitely be a huge challenge, to mount the single-hosting model, to welcome 32 of the best teams in the world, the highest-ranking officials of the sport and most avid fans of the sport from every corner of the globe.”
“But if there is one thing that we, Filipinos, can do well, it is exactly this—to equally give each and every team the best conditions in order for them to fully focus on the competition and the championship trophy and to make them feel at home right in our own home.”
Unang hinost ng noo’y Czechoslovakia noong 1949, ang FIVB MWCH— orihinal na isang quadrennial competition – ay dalawang beses na idinaos sa Asia noong 1998 at 2006 kapwa sa Japan at pinagsaluhan ng dalawang bansa noong 2018 (Italy at Bulgaria) at 2022 (Poland at Slovenia).
“Our successful bid to host the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship further reinforces our country’s track record in staging world class events,” sabi ni Cayetano. “With the support and commitment of both our government and the private sector, we can be certain that it will be of the same caliber, or even better.”

“We reiterate the Department of Tourism’s full support and commitment to ensure the successful hosting of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Championship in 2025.”
Nagpahayag ng kagalakan si Ambassador Dy sa pagsaksi sa matagumpay na awarding sa Pilipinas ng hosting chores para sa championship.
