PH, HUNGARY PINALALIM ANG ECONOMIC TIES

PINAGSAMA-SAMA ng Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) ang top government officials, industry leaders, at business representatives mula sa Pilipinas at Hungary upang palakasin pa ang bilateral relations ng dalawang bansa sa pag-host ng Philippine-Hungary Business Forum noong December 3. 2024 sa Sheraton Manila Hotel.

Ang event, naglalayong palakasin ang trade and investment relations sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa, ay nakatuon sa key sectors tulad ng electronics and semiconductors, IT-BPM, at software development.

Binigyang-diin ni BOI Managing Head at Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo ang transformative changes na nagaganap sa Philippine business environment sa pamamagitan ng CREATE Act at CREATE MORE, na nag-aalok ng long-term fiscal incentives, kasana ang green-lane facilitation para sa pinabilis na investment approvals, na lumilikha ng isang competitive at investor-friendly business environment.

Ipinahayag din niya ang kanyang kumpiyansa para sa partnership opportunities sa hinaharap.

“To our Hungarian partners, the Philippines offers immense opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation. I am confident that this collaboration will yield mutual benefits. I look forward to today’s discussions and the partnerships they will inspire,” sabi ni Rodolfo.

Sinuportahan ni Hungary Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Deputy State Secretary for External Economic Relations Katalin Bihari ang sentimyentong ito, binigyang-diin ang commitment ng Hungary na palakasin ang presensiya nito sa Southeast Asia kasama ang Pilipinas bilang strategic partner nito.

“The volume of trade between Hungary and the Philippines in the last year amounted to more than USD 199 million, but we believe that there is still more room for improvement. The main purpose of our business forum today is to work on it and achieve further results,” aniya.

“We are witnessing growing synergies between our countries, and we also see that Hungarian businesses are increasingly interested in the vibrant and diverse market of the Philippines, while at the same time Filipino entrepreneurs are also recognizing the strategic advantages that Hungary, as a hub, can offer,” dagdag pa niya.

Nagbigay rin sina Ambassador Titanilla Tóth ng Embassy of Hungary sa Pilipinas at Philippine-Hungarian Business Council lead Perry Ferrer ng mensahe ng suporta, binigyang-diin ang mutual benefits ng pinalakas na economic cooperation sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.

Ang Hungarian delegation na kinabibilangan ng limang kompanya sa security printing, IT, agriculture, healthcare, at smart cities, na kinatawan nina rMr. M. Zoltan Fejes ng Any Security Printing, Mr. Roland Borbely ng Bluespot, Mr. Evaristo Macalino ng Balbona Tetra, Ms. Marvi de Guzman ng Kuube, at Mr. Rodney Hall, Chairman ng Bromhead Holdings Inc./ Reysten (healthcare – antimicrobial solutions), ay sinamahan ng government officials mula sa Hungary.

Sa panig ng Pilipinas, iprinisinta nina Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) Board Director Ramil Villanueva at Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI) President Dan Lachica ang sectoral opportunities sa IT at software development, at electronics and semiconductor industries, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
