DAHIL sa magandang serbisyo, binigyan ng one-year contract ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) si Korean table tennis coach Kwon Mi Sook para hasain ang mga Pinoy.

Ito ay bahagi rin ng paghahanda ng mga Pinoy sa 2019 Southeast Asian Games na gaganapin sa bansa sa susunod na taon, at sa iba pang overseas competition na kanilang lalahukan.

Sa isang eksklusibong panayam, sinabi ni Table Tennis Federation of the Philippines Inc. secretary-general Tate Deniega na tatangap ang Korean coach ng $2,000 monthly salary.

“The coaching contract of Kwon is only for months. PSC extended the contract for one year,” sabi ni Deniega.

“TTFP commissioned the services of Kwon primarily to sharpen the skills of the player preparing for international competitions like the SEA Games,” ani Deniega.

Ayon kay association president Ting Ledesma, lubhang napapanahon ang pagdating ni Kwon dahil kasalukuyang naghahanda ang kanyang mga manlalaro sa SEA Games na gagawin sa bansa sa Nobyembre.

“The commissioning of the Korean coach is timely and proper at this point in time our athletes are busy preparing for series of international stint next year and the SEA Games,” pahayag ni Ledesma.

Umaasa si Ledesma na lalong huhusay ang mga Pinoy dahil veteran coach at dating world champion si Kwon. CLYDE MARIANO
