INANUNSYO ng Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, marketing and promotions arms ng Department of Tou­rism (DOT), ang pagbubukas ng re­gistration para sa 20th edition ng Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX), ang pinakamalaking gov-ernment organized travel trade event sa bansa.

Sa ikalawang taon, PHITEX ang magiging hybrid event sa gitna ng pandemya. Gaganapin ito sa Subic Bay bilang bagong venue ng online business-to-business (B2B) sessions and networking na gaganapin sa September 19-23.

Ang rema ngayong taon ay “safe, smart, and sustainable tourism” bilang bahagi ng strategic marketing plan ng TPB sa new normal.

Ayon kay TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Anthonette Velasco-Allones, sa tagumpay nila noong isang taon, excited silang ituloy ang nasimulan na nila.

Ginanap ang PHITEX 2020 sa Panglao, Bohol, isa mga naunang tourism destinations na nagbukas sa panahon ng pandemya. Liban sa virtual B2B sessions, featured din sa event ang online games, quizzes, at curated virtual tour sa City of Manila. Nakapagtala sila ng 3,946 contacts, 1,205 leads, at 76 on-site bookings na inaasahang kikita ng PHP 42 million. – LEANNE SPHERE
