THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned-over on Wednesday, March 15, 2020 to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Medical Corps the newly-completed health facility at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Forum Halls in Pasay City.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the makeshift hospital at PICC Forum Tent has 294 patient cubicles, and 6 nurse stations.

A total of six(6) smart houses outside the Forum building were also turned-over to PNP to be used by health workers.

Hospital beds and other equipments, such as IV stands, wheelchairs, defibrillators, are now installed in the PICC Facility and will have a mobile pharmacy and a mobile X-ray machine.

Secretary Villar said that the PNP Medical Corps will manage the operation of the fully-airconditioned PICC health facility that will cater to patients with mild to moderate cases of corona virus disease (COVID-19).

In partnership with EEI and Vista Land Group, DPWH completed the PICC health facility three (3) days ahead of schedule, working 24/7.

PNP chief PGen Archie Francisco Gamboa, on behalf of the 16 police medical and healthcare frontliners and 42 non-medical security augmentation contingent from the national headquarters who will assume their posts today, extended his appreciation to Secretary Villar and his DPWH Team for completing this project in record time.

Completing way ahead of schedule manifests the responsiveness of DPWH to the urgency of the situation to make this facility operational as soon as possible to accept COVID-19 patients with mild to moderate cases, said Gamboa

This syncs well with the desire of President Rodrigo R Duterte to mobilize the entire government machinery to respond to this national health emergency”, the Chief PNP added.
