PINALAWIG ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang deadline ng paghahain ng tax returns at pagbabayad ng buwis para sa taxpayers na nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) at modified ECQ.

Ang Metro Manila ay isinailalim sa pinakamahigpit na quarantine restrictions mula Agosto 6 hanggang Agosto  20 upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng mas mabilis makahawang COVID-19 Delta variant. Ibinaba ang quarantine status sa Metro Manila sa MECQ hanggang sa katapusan ng buwan.

Sa ilalim ng Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 91-2021, ang deadline na pumatak sa naturang mga petsa ay pinalawig ng 15 calendar days simula Agosto 20, 2021.

Ayon sa BIR, ang pagpapalawig ay bilang tugon sa posibleng surge ng COVID-19 cases dahil sa Delta variant.

“In case the ECQ and/or MECQ will be further extended, then the said deadline will likewise be extended by 15 calendar days from the lifting of such community quarantine,” sabi pa ng ahensiya.

“By providing them with this extension, taxpayers affected by quarantine restrictions need not worry much of complying with their tax obligations while helping the country take precautions to prevent the further spread of the deadly variant,” pahayag ni BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay.

Sa panahon ng extended 15-day period, ang mga taxpayer ay may tatlong opsiyon sa pagbabayad ng buwis.

Una ay sa pinakamalapit na Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) anuman ang RDO jurisdiction.

Ang isa pang opsiyon ay sa pamamagitan ng concerned Revenue Collection Officers (RCOs) ng pinakamalapit na Revenue District Office (RDO), maging sa mga lugar na may AABs.

“And the safest and most convenient option, the online tax payment facilities, namely Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) Link.Biz Portal, DBP Pay Tax Online, Unionbank, GCash and PayMaya.”
