PLDT GROUP WINS TWIN COUNTRY AWARDS FOR TOP MOBILE AND FIXED NETWORK

KINILALA ang PLDT at ang kanilang wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) ng OOkla dahil sa pagiging pinakamabilis at fixed mobile networks para sa Q1-Q2 ng 2018, ayon sa pagkakasunod. Ang Ookla ay isang global leader sa internet testing at analysis.

Sinabi ng Ookla na ang Smart ang nakakopo ng Speed ScoreTMof 14.98, na may average download speeds na 17.25 Mbps at average upload speeds na 7.65 Mbps, base sa 2,118,464 user-initiated tests taken with Speedtest® on LTE-capable devices in the Philippines for Q1-Q2.

Sa kabilang banda, nakakuha ang PLDT ng Speed Score na 17.31, na may average download speeds na 22.84 Mbps at average upload speed na 23.45 Mbps. Ang fixed network award ay ibinase sa 29,076,090 user-initiated Speedtest nationwide para sa parehong panahon.

Kasama sa Initial  data ng Ookla reports na nakita ang Smart na nagpost ng malaking leads sa malalaking siyudad  tulad ng Quezon City, Makati at Manila, halimbawa, ang PLDT ay mas mabilis sa Quezon City, Pasig at Manila.

Sa Quezon City, halimabawa, nag-post ang Smart ng  Speed ScoreTM ng 24.09 Mbps, higit sa dalawang beses na bilis kaysa kakumpetensiyang  network ito ay sumasalamin sa resulta ng major networks na may upgrade activities na ginawa ka­makailan ng Smart sa siyudad kasama ang activation ng LTE-Advanced at carrier aggregation.

Para sa mobile, nagbubuo ang Speed Score ng measure ng bawat download ng provider at upload speed para sa paglalagay ng ranggo sa network speed performance. Nanggaling sa modernong devices ang ginamit n kalkulasyon ng oras sa Speed Score na may kapasidad ng koneksiyon sa pinakamabilis na merkado na sakop ng kasalukuyang teknolohiya.

Ina-assess ng Ookla ang best network speeds na nakarating sa given network, accounting for tests that are taken on various Speedtest applications that connect to a fixed network, including tests taken on mobile phones over a WiFi connection.

Historic capex

Ang award ay tiyempo sa patuloy na pamumuhunan sa historic levels ng kanilang resources para makasuporta sa network transformation na may tinatayang halaga na US$5 billion mula 2016 hanggang 2020, na may capital na inaasahang aabot sa  P58 billion ngayong taon.

Kasabay nito ang  Smart’s ramped-up Long Term Evolution (LTE) at LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) roll out, nagpagulong  ang PLDT ng kanilang fiber broadband service, na sumusuporta rin sa stepped-up deployment ng mobile network sa pagbibigay  ng high-capacity links para sa cellular base stations.

Ramped-up LTE roll-out

Ang ang pinaka­magaling na teknolohiya na makatutulong para mapabilis, maging abot kaya at maging maaasahan na mobile internet service para sa mga kostumer.

“On mobile, as shown by the experience of other countries, the network roll-out must be accompanied by the adoption of LTE-Advanced-capable mobile phones and devices,” sabi pa ni Tamayo.

Dinodoble ng Smart ang bilang ng LTE base stations hanggang  17,700 nationwide, itataas ang bilang ng LTE-equipped cell sites sa mahigit na  6,800 sa unang quarter ng 2019.

  1. Aw, this was a very nice post. In concept I have to put in writing in this way moreover – spending time and actual effort to create a good article… but what things can I say… I procrastinate alot and no means manage to go completed.
