PONDO BUBUHOS SA TECH-VOC COURSES

MAGBUBUHOS ng malaking pondo ang ad­ministrasyong Duterte sa technical-vocational (tech-voc) courses, na magkakaloob ng scholarships sa mahigit 400,000 katao kada taon.

Sa panayam ng Phil­ippine News Agency (PNA), sinabi ni Techni­cal Education and Skills Development Author­ity (TESDA) Deputy Director General Alvin Feliciano na prayori­dad ng pamahalaan ang pagbibigay ng libreng tech-voc courses sa mga benepisyaryo na kinabibilangan ng persons with disabilities, solo parents, drug surrenderers at iba pa.

“We target more than 400,000 scholars yearly. About 300,000 people are benefiting from TES­DA’s tech-voc courses when these were not yet free,” wika ni Feliciano.

Aniya, para ngayong taon, ang gobyerno ay naglaan ng P6.9 billion para sa libreng tech-voc courses pa lamang. Ga­yunman, ang pondo ay isinama sa budget ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at maaari itong ipalabas ng CHED sa TESDA sa Hunyo o Hulyo, tamang-tamang para sa second semester.

Ang scholarships ay magkakaloob sa mga be­nepisyaryo ng P160 daily allowance, training insur­ance, assessments at tool kits.

“There are instances when the trainees might get hurt during the course, so there’s insurance,” paliwanag ni Feliciano.

Dagdag pa niya, ito ang unang pagkakataon na magbibigay ang gobyerno ng tool kits (e.g. welding machine) sa mga iskolar.

“The government has seen that tech-voc gradu­ates have the ability to become entrepreneurs, so that is why the govern­ment wants to give them a complete package,” sabi pa niya.

“This is the first time that it will happen. We used to provide just the training and assessment,” dagdag pa ni Feliciano.
