NANUNGKULAN na si 1st Infantry Division (1ID) Commander Maj. Gen. Gene M. Ponio bilang Acting Commander ng AFP Western Mindanao Command (WESTMINCOM), AFP, na nakabase sa Camp Don Basilio Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City.
Pinalitan ni Ponio si Lt. Gen. Corleto S. Vinluan Jr., na sumapit nasa kanyang mandatory retirement age of 56.
Pinasalamatan ni Ponio ang pamunuan ng AFP partikular si AFP Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Jose C. Faustino Jr., sa tiwalang ipinagkaloob sa kanya para pamunuan ang WESTMINCOM.
