CEBU -NAGKASUNDO ang Police Regional Office – 7 o Central Visayas Police na labanan ang ilegal droga sa pamamagitan ng paglagda sa kasunduan.
Ayon kay PRO-7 Director BGen. Roderick Augustus Alba, tinawag ito na ‘One Cebu Inter-Agency Interdiction Task Force.’
Ang Memorandum of Agreement ay nilagdaan ng Team PNP Region 7, Cebu Provincial Government at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region VII sa Old Gallery Capitol para sa paglikha sa One Cebu Inter-Agency Interdiction Task Force na responsable upang matigil na ang illegal drugs, smuggling, human trafficking and terrorism sa Cebu.
Nanguna sa launching ng One Cebu Inter-Agency Interdiction Task Force MOA Signing sina Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, Cebu Provincial Government, Alba, at PDEA -VII kasama ang local at national government officials.
Sinabi ni Alba na ang paglaganap ng droga ay isa sa problema sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Kaya naman mahalaga sa Philippine National Police ang patuloy na istratehiya at kaalaman para makaiwas sa droga.
“One Cebu-Inter-Agency Interdiction Task Force (OC-IAITF) promotes inter-agency collaboration for greater efficiency in service delivery to improve the role definition of participating agencies and the quality of information exchange on the security of borders. It also aims to address the issues and concerns we have in our ports based on the current risk and threat assessment,” ayon kay Alba. EUNICE CELARIO
