POSIBLENG maitala ang inflation mula 4.2 hanggang 5 percent para sa buwan ng Abril, ayon sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng central bank na ang mas mababang presyo ng domestic petroleum at iba pang key food items tulad ng mga prutas at gulay dahil sa pagbuti ng suplay ang maaaring magpabagal sa inflation.

Gayunman, ang dagdag-singil sa koryente, kasama ang pagtaas ng presyo ng baboy, isda at bigas ay posibleng magpabilis sa inflation rate.

“Moving forward, the BSP will continue to monitor evolving economic and financial conditions to ensure that the monetary policy stance remains consistent with the BSP’s price stability mandate,” sabi ng BSP.

Ang inflation noong Marso ay bahagyang bumagal sa 4.5 percent noong Marso mula sa 4.7 percent sa naunang buwan.

Naunang sinabi ni BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno na maaaring manatiling mataas ang inflation ngayong taon bago bumaba at maging pasok sa target ng pamahalaan na 2 hanggang 4 percent.

Ayon kay Diokno, ang average  inflation ay maaaring bumagal sa pagitan ng 3.7 at 3.8 percent sa 2022.
