PSC INVITATIONAL GOLF CUP LILIKOM NG PONDO PARA SA PARIS-BOUND ATHLETES

LILIKOM ng karagdagang pondo ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) para sa Paris Olympics at Paralympic Games-bound athletes sa pagdaraos ng PSC Invitational Golf Cup sa Canlubang Golf and Country Club sa June 14.

“We would like to thank all the sponsors who have committed their support for this event and we ensure these can go a long way for our athletes vying to continue the legacy we built in the Olympics and Paralympic Games,” wika ni PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann.

Ilang stakeholders ang nagkumpirma ng kanilang suporta sa inisyatibang ito, kabilang si Sen. Bong Go, at ang Philippine Airlines at Smart bilang major sponsors.

Nangako rin ang San Miguel Corporation, Strong Group Athletics, Chooks-to-Go, Sen. Sonny Angara, Uratex Philippines, at Parola Maritime Inc. na magbibigay ng suporta.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang iba pang sponsors ay kinabibilangan ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Executive Director Erika Dy, Cong. Faustino Michael Dy III, Cong. Lord Allan Velasco, Converge, Shakey’s Philippines, Mr. Mariano Araneta, Johnny Air Cargo, TMS Ship Agencies Inc., CEL Logistics Inc., Winford Manila, Peak Sports, Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF), Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc (FFCCCII), Parikit Manila, BLK, Happy Skin, Cong. Ang Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ay nangako ring susuporta sa Olympians at Paralympians.

Ang proyekto ay naglalayong makalikom ng mahigit P2 milyon na hahatiin sa qualified athletes sa pagsisimula ng kanilang training para sa  summer games.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang Paris Olympic roster ng bansa ay nasa 15 matapos makakuha sina Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Carlo Paalam at  Hergie Bacyadan ng tickets mula sa qualifying tournament sa Thailand, habang apat na para-athletes ang pormal na nagkuwalipika para sa Paralympic Games —  Ernie Gawilan, Angel Otom, Allain Ganapin, at  Agustina Bantiloc.

Ang mga kalahok ay kikilalanin sa pakikipagtulungan sa iba pang sports institutions tulad ng Philippine Olympic Committee, national sports associations, at mga miyembro ng media.
