BILANG bahagi ng partnership sa Mindanao State University (MSU), nakatakdang i-rehabilitate ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang swimming pool ng unibersidad ngayong taon.

Nagsagawa na sina PSC  Engr. Eduardo Clariza at Arch. Noel Elnar ng initial inspection sa MSU Marawi campus nitong linggo, at in-assess ang estado ng swimming pool, na naging host sa ilang UAAP competitions sa kaagahan ng dekada 80, gayundin sa iba pang regional meets.

“The plan is to rehabilitate the facility to meet international standards for competition. A covered pool is being designed in consideration of the environment and cultural sensitivity of Islamic practices,” sabi ni Clariza.

Ininspeksiyon din ng technical staff ng ahensiya ang newly rubberized MSU Track Oval, na pinaganda sa tulong ng PSC.

Nagpasalamat si MSU President Dr. Habib Macaayong sa suporta ng  PSC at ng national government sa MSU at sa mga mamamayan ng  Lanao, sa courtesy visit ng PSC experts sa kanyang tanggapan.

“We are forever grateful for this assistance from the PSC. MSU expresses full support of to the sports development programs of the Philippine Sports Commission,” ani Macaayong.

Inaasahan ng PSC na matatapos ang rehabilitasyon ng dalawang sports facilities ngayong taon, at ang pagtatalaga rito bilang “Center for Sports for Peace and Development” sa Mindanao.

Inasistihan ni  PSC Consultant at MSU Prof. Henry Daut, kasama si University Engineer Engr. Presciosa Dimaporo, ang PSC team sa kanilang pagbisita.

Noong nakaraang September 30 ay iginawad ng MSU Marawi Campus ang Doctor of Humanities Honoris Causa kay PSC Chairman William Ramirez para sa kanyang kontribusyon sa Mindanao Sports for Peace movement, sa selebrasyon ng 60th founding anniversary ng unibersidad. CLYDE MARIANO
