PSHS itatayo bawat probinsya

APROBADO  na ng kamara sa ikalawang pagbasa ang panukalang batas na magpapalaganap sa pagtatatag ng dalawang campus kada rehiyon at isang campus kada probinsya ng Philippine Science High School (PSHS) system.

Layon nitong mapadami pa ang bilang ng mag aaral masasanay sa pagkadalubhasa sa science, math, at engineering at posibleng maging mga scientists at mga dalubhasa sa teknolohiya na kinakailangan ng bansa sa “industrialization”.

“House Bill No. 9726 which seeks to strengthen the governance and management of the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System aims to increase student access to free, quality, and globally competitive education so that the country can have more professionals trained in science, technology, and innovation,”ang nakasaad sa naturang panukalang batas.

“Science, technology and innovation are vital to national growth and development.It is after all written in the 1987 Philippine Constitution.Yet Science education in the Philippines had its history even before the 1987 Constitution.It traces back from the time of former President Diosdado Macapagal, in which Republic Act 3661, which seeks to build specialized education to nurture them in science, technology, engineering and to prodeuce Filipino scientists,researchers, but also nation builders as well,”giit ni Committee on Science and Technology chairperson and Aklan Ist District Representative Carlito Marquez sa kanyang sponsorship speech sa plenaryo.

Ayon kay Marquez, ang PSHS System anya napatunayan ng nakapag-produce ng mga Filipino scientists, researchers at nation builders.

“Despite the many hurdles and challenged it has faced.We have now the likes of Civil Service Chairperson Atty.Carlo Nograles,former DOTC Department Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya,and many others.Since its founding,PSHS has expanded its operation in Visayas and Mindanao, when until in 1997, Republic Act 8496 was signed by Fidel Ramos to unify all the existing campuses into a single system.Which gave birth to the other 15 founding campuses.PSHS is on its way to achieving its mission and vision.In pursuit of passion and truth , commitment and excellence.I have no doubt of its quality, and we want more of it.With the ever growing demand of the present characterized to be volatile,certain and complex, it is imperative that we invest more in science education to ensure that we have sufficient supply of quality Filipino scientists in the making who shall serve our country and for them to become at par with the best in the world.For a more globally competitive to be highly confident and responsible leaders of tomorrow.In securingthe future of the Filipino for social growth,” dagdag pa ni Marquez.

Paliwanag niya, kailangang patatagin ang PSHS system upang makatiyak na magkakaroon ng sapat na suplay ng de kalidad na mga Filipino scientists na magsisilbi sa bansa, at para sila ay mapabilang sa pinakamahuhusay sa larangang ito sa mundo.

Nakasaad sa naturang panukalang batas ang pagtatag ng dalawang campus sa bawat rehiyon at isa man lang kada probinsya. Ang PSHS Board of Trustees ang lilikha at magpapatupad ng mga polisiya at educational standard sa bawat campus. Nakasaad din sa naturang panukalang batas na magkakaroon ng trust fund sa kikitain mula sa nakukulektang fees upang makapagsagawa ng mga prayoridad na programa at aktibidad dito.

“Through this measure, we come to innovate science with the education now that we are moving forward in the industrialization. It is an attached agency of DOST. The nation is grateful for administering processes growth in the public and private sector,” pagtatapos ni Marquez.
