BINALAAN ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang publiko laban sa tinatawag na auto loan ‘pasalo-benta’ o ssume balance scams,

Ayon sa BSP, nag-isyu na ito ng memo noong August 26 para sa BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs) tungkol sa organized crimes sa pamamagitan ng auto loans.

Sinabi ng central bank na tinatarget ng mga perpetrator ng ‘assume balance/pasalo scheme’, na tinatawag ding ‘Pasalo-Benta Scheme’ ang mga car buyer na umaasang makakamura sa pagbili ng kotse at mga seller na kailangang ilipat ang kanilang liabilities.

“Under the scheme, a syndicate member would buy a vehicle from a seller with an agreement to assume payments for the auto loan,” ayon sa BSP.

Gayunman, sinabi ng central bank na walang intensiyon ang miyembro ng sindikato na bayaran ang nalalabing amortizations at ibebenta ang sasa-kyan sa isang end-buyer para kumita gamit ang mga pekeng dokumento.

Bunga nito, made-default ang original seller sa kanyang auto loan at mare-repossess ang sasakyan, at mawawalan dito ng karapatan ang end-buyer.

Ipinaliwanag ng BSP na maaari pang mabawi ang sasakyan ng bangko na may original Certificate of Registration mula sa Land Transportation Of-fice (LTO) o car dealer.
