KINUHA ng Perlas Spikers si open spiker Jho Maraguinot para sa kanilang kampanya sa Premier Volleyball League ngayong taon.
“Perlas is giving me an opportunity to play. I was really hesitant at first just because I’m scared that my investment on my rehab will be put to waste if I injure myself again. But I realized that this is also an opportunity to regain my confidence with my body and my game,” pahayag ni Maraguinot.
Tubong Alitagtag, Batangas, si Maraguinot ay nagwagi ng UAAP women’s volleyball championship para sa Ateneo noong 2015.
Noong 2018 ay naglaro siya para sa Sta. Lucia Realtors sa Philippine SuperLiga.
Hangad ni Maraguinot na maipagpatuloy ang paglalaro ng volleyball ngayong taon sa kanyang bagong tahanan.
“It has always been what I wanted to do. Especially when the UAAP got cancelled; Im so eager to play again. With everything being uncertain, being able to play again is something that would bring happiness not just to us players but also to the volleyball fans,” ani Maraguinot.
Ang pagsisimula ng bagong kabanata bilang isang pro volleyball player ay may katiwasayang haharapin ni Maraguinot.
“Honestly I have no idea what to expect. I’m just really excited to play again and this time not as a UAAP player but a pro volleyball player,” aniya.
Ang PVL season ay hitik sa mga talentadong players na magdadala ng ‘competitiveness’ sa liga. At nakahanda si Maraguinot sa hamon, lalo na’t inaasahang tataas ang lebel ng kumpetisyon sa pagpasok ng mga bagong koponan.
“Of course! Im really excited because for sure everyone is eager to back to that court and do what we love doing. For sure everyone will have a different level of competitiveness. Naipon sa 1 year na quarantine HAHA,” dagdag ni Maraguinot.
Ang tulungan ang Perlas na magwagi ng PVL championship ang isang bagay na pinagtutuunan ng pansin ni Maraguinot.
“No matter what team, it would always have to be a great teamwork. Which will come from trusting each other inside and outside the court,” ani Maraguinot.
