QMC-Pedia gets equipment from SMFI

SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) turns over medical equipment to Quezon Medical Center – Pediatrics Department on Tuesday in a simple program at the ground floor of the hospital.

Dr. Dennis Revere, chief of the Pediatrics Department and Dr. Rolando Padre, chief of hospitals expressed gratitude toward the SMFI led by Ms. Connie Angeles, SAVP/Exec. Director for Health and Medical Programs,  Albert Uy, Senior Project Manager for Wellness Center Program and Lilibeth Azores, PR Consultant. He said such donations will be of most help to the sector most vulnerable and requiring it, including young children and the newborns.

SM City Lucena Mall Manager Maricel Alquiros said all SM malls now go beyond being everybody’s shopping mall but they have become partner of the community in fostering worthy projects, especially those favoring the marginalized sector.

Gov. Danny Suarez, as guest of honor of the event, thanked the SY Family, and SMFI for sponsoring the much-needed medical equipment including infant incubator and other newborn facilities. He also relayed a remarkable health program started by former Quezon Gov. David Suarez, dubbed as Quezon’s First 1,000 days or Q1K where the child and the mother get proper care and nutrition, from day one from conception up to the first two years of the child’s life.

Other personalities who graced the occasion include provincial councilors Rhodora Tan, Alona Obispo and Beth Sio; Provincial Administrator Roberto Gajo, Ms. Jenny Suarez-Lopez chief of staff of Governor Suarez and SM City Lucena Asst. Mall Manager Russell Alegre.
