Tangan ni Reyes ang apat na panalo sa apat na laro para mapabilang sa listahan ng mga undefeated players na kinabibilangan nina top seeds International Masters Denis Lavazuk ng Belarus, American prodigy Christopher Yoo at Fide Master Maxim Tsaruk ng Belarus.
Naglalaro bilang 91st seed sa torneo na nilahukan 190 players sa buong menudo, naitala ni Reyes ang apat na sunod na panalo laban sa mga liyamadong karibal, kabilang sina Russian Kirin Pitrenko at Indonesian Candidate Master Aditya Arden sa rounds 3 at 4.
“Chester is really underrated and he is showing in this tournament that he is one of the world’s best top junior players. He just needs a break and more exposure and I think this will be his breakthrough in an international tournament,” pahayag ni coach Richard Villlaseran, founder ng King’s Gambit Chess School, kung saan nagsasanay si Reyes.
