Actor-Singer Ron Macapagal has gone a real long way. After winning in It’s Showtime Bidaman competition at ABS-CBN, he has done several projects on television and movies. On TV, he had some stints in “Ipaglaban Mo” and “MMK”. He is also shooting a film, “And I Love Her” with Teresa Loyzaga, Richard Quan,Rez Cortez, Keanna Reeves, Neil Perez, Faye Tangonan, Zairah Madrid, Rob Torres and Mika MIjares under my direction. This year, he won four Best Actor awards in several international film festivals.
In May, he won Best Actor Honorable Mention for his role in the suspense thriller, Cuckoo in the Oniros Film Awards in Italy. It was followed by another Best Actor for his portrayal in Tutop in the Druk International Film Festival in Bhutan. It was immediately followed by another Best Actor plum in the Sweden Film Awards for his role in Mammangi. The 4th one came from another prestigious award giving body, Port Blair International Film Festival also for his portrayal in Mammangi.
Ron is scheduled to direct the film, Bata Pa Si Abel and he is set to shoot another award-winning movie, Hesus. If it were not enough, PolyEast Records who have its exclusive artists Martin Nievera, ZsaZsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid and Bamboo among others have signed up Ron to record two songs for them as a start. So, two days ago, we had a contract signing at the main office of PolyEast Records. Here’s wishing Ron the best of both worlds as a singer and an actor.
