(Sa COVID-19 vaccination program) CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ISAMA SA PRIORITY LIST

BILANG natatangi  sa hanay ng ‘essenrial workers’ at maaaring mapabilang sa tinatawag na ‘economic frontliners’, hiniling ng isang ranking official ng Kamara kay National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer, Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. na isama sa top priority list ng mga babakunahan kontra COVID-19 ang mga manggagawa kapwa sa private at government construction sector.

Ayon kay House Committee on Public Works and Highways Senior Vice-Chairman at Construction Workers Solidarity (CWS) Partylist Rep. Romeo Momo, Sr., sa inaasahang pagdating sa bansa ng mas maraming suplay ng nasabing bakuna, dapat maisama sa prayoridad na matuturukan nito ang mga construction worker.

“Our highly dedicated and hard working fellow Filipino construction men and women must also be considered as among our frontliners, although admittedly they are not directly combating the spread of the dreaded virus, nor taking care of those who are infected by the disease,” anang kongresista.

“Nevertheless, let me please point out that they are in the main front of our efforts in battling the economic devastation brought about by the pandemic, as they served as the backbone of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s ‘BUILD, BUILD, BUILD’ progam and other infrastructure-related activities,” aniya.

Ani Momo, noon pa man ay napatunayan na ang  construction industry ay isa sa mahahalagang bahagi sa pagpapalago sa ekonomiya ng bansa, at ngayong may nararanasang pandemya, kinakailangang magpatuloy at siguruhin ng pamahalaan na hindi mababalam ang lahat ng construction works.

“Our very productive construction workers are our economic frontliners as well, they are one of those who will bring about the very much needed  economic recovery and growth of our country, that is why they must also be given protection against the virus,” mariing sabi ni Momo.

“My call to our highly respected Secretary  Carlito Galvez Jr. is to include our beloved construction workers to a much higher category on the government’s priority list for COVID-19 vaccination program. They are to be treated as frontliners too, serving as the backbone of the Build, Build,  Build and other infrastructure programs of the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte,” dagdag pa niya.
