(Sa kabila ng pagbaba ng gaming revenues) P1.6-B CASH DIVIDENDS NI-REMIT NG PAGCOR

NAG-REMIT ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ng P1.6 billion na cash dividends sa National Treasury ngayong buwan sa kabila ng pagbaba ng gaming revenues nito dahil sa epekto ng pandemya.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng state-run gaming firm na ang pinakahuling cash dividends remittance nito ay kumakatawan sa buong net earnings ng ahensiya para sa 2020.

Noong 2019, ang PAGCOR ay nakapag-remit ng kabuuang P18 billion na cash dividends, upang maging third highest cash dividends contributor ang ahensiya, kasunod ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ( BSP) at ng Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp.

Ayon sa PAGCOR, ang remittance nito sa state coffers ay bahagi ng patuloy nitong suporta sa revenue generation efforts para pondohan ang iba’t ibang health at economic measures sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“The current global health crisis is taking its toll on our income generation due to the suspension of gaming operations. But through our prudent use of funds, we are able to support the government’s significant endeavors, especially our battle against COVID-19,” pahayag ni PAGCOR chairman and CEO Andrea Domingo.

Pormal na tinanggap ni Deputy Treasurer-Officer-in-Charge Ed Mariño ang cash dividends contributions ng PAGCOR sa tanggapan ng Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) sa Intramuros, Manila.

“This latest dividends remittance from PAGCOR will help fuel further the national government’s economic stimulus program in light of the pandemic. We are thankful that PAGCOR has been a very responsive partner of the government in coping with the global health crisis,” sabi ni Mariño.
