HINDI muna tatanggap ang Mactan-Cebu International Airport ng international flights sa loob ng dalawang araw dahil sa kawalan ng quarantine rooms para sa mga darating na overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at iba pang uuwing Filipino.
“As of last night, we were facing a crisis. Why? Because the 2,500 rooms that were made available for OFWs and ROFs were already nearing full capacity,” wika ni Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia sa isang media briefing sa kapitolyo.
“And for that reason, the MCIAA has declared that they will close tomorrow for two days, May 14 and May 15. Flights have already been canceled,” aniya.
Ang desisyon na isara ang airport ay nabuo sa isang emergency meeting kahapon ng umaga ng mga airport authority, regional directors mula sa ilang ahensiya, at ng Hotels and Resorts Association of Cebu.
Ang Cebu ay nagluwag ng restrictions para sa mga residente na darating mula sa international flights. Ang mga non-resident passengers ay dumarating din via Cebu airport.
Kabilang sa protocols ay ang pagsasailalim sa mga parating na pasahero sa swab test sa airport at pananatili sa isang hotel sa loob ng dalawang araw hanggang sa mailabas ang negative RT-PCR test.
“For non-Cebu residents, they will have to show proof of itinerary in going home to their province outside of Cebu and observe health protocols of that local government unit or the IATF.”
Habang hinihintay ang RT-PCR test results, ang non-Cebu residents ay mananatili rin ng dalawang araw sa isang quarantine facility o hotel.
Ang mga residente ng Cebu ay makauuwi na sa kanilang hometown matapos na ilabas ang negative PCR test. Sasailalim sila sa home quarantine at sa swab test sa ika-7 araw sa kanilang mga bahay. CNN PHILIPPINES
