SINUSPINDE ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) ang la-hat ng inbound international flights sa siyam sa paliparan ng bansa sa loob ng isang linggo simula kahapon, Mayo 3.
Sa isang statement, sinabi ng CAAP na nagpalabas na ito ng Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) para suspendihin ang lahat ng inbound international passenger at commercial flights hanggang alas-8 ng umaga ng Mayo 10.
Ipinalabas ng CAAP ang NOTAM makaraang hilingin ni National Task Force Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer at Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. sa Department of Trans-portation (DOTr) na suspendihin ang flight para maiwasan ang pagkalat ng kinata-takutang coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19.
Ang siyam na airports na saklaw ng NOTAM ay ang Ninoy Aquino International Airport,
Davao International Airport, Clark International Airport, Iloilo International Airport, Mac-tan-Cebu International Airport, Zamboanga International Airport, Kalibo International Airport Laoag International Airport at Puerto Princesa International Airport.
“Cargo flights, sweeper flights, medical flights, utility flights, and maintenance flights will continue, ayon sa CAAP.
“International flights wishing to land or depart must request for an exemption with CAAP Operations Center (OPCEN) at least 36 hours before the scheduled departure from the airport of origin,” anang CAAP.
Sa hiwalay na statement ay sinabi ng National Task Force on COVID-19 na kabilang din sa exempted ang emergencies habang enroute, weather mitigation flights, at ang sweeper flights para sa foreign nationals na pinauuwi sa kani-kanilang bansa.
Nananatili rin umanong suspendido ang domestic air arrivals at departures sa NAIA.
“This decision is meant to decongest our quarantine facilities to protect our people by preventing the further spread of COVID-19 and also ensure that our overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are well taken cared of when they arrive from abroad,” sabi ng task force.
“As of today, there are already approximately 20,000 OFWs undergoing mandatory quarantine in Metro Manila,” dagdag pa nito.
