SINABI kahapon ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na mandatory ang discounts na ipinagkakaloob sa senior citizens at persons with disabilities (PWDs) para sa qualified purchases na isinagawa online o sa pamamagitan ng mobile applications.
Nakasaad ito sa Revenue Regulations No. 8-2023 na inisyu ni Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr.
Nakapaloob din sa RR No. 8-2023 na hindi na kailangan ang pirma ng seniors o PWD para sa qualified purchases na isinagawa online o sa pamamagitan ng mobile applications.
“Online platforms should recognize the mandatory discounts given to Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities.
The BIR has issued RR No. 8-2023 to this effect. The signature of the SC/PWD is not needed if the purchase is made through online means. The SC/PWD Identification Card number should still be provided,” sabi ni Commissioner Lumagui.
Ang RR No. 8-2023 ay inisyu ni Lumagui para maisulong ang layuning makapagbigay ng Excellent Taxpayer Service.
Ang pag-iisyu ay isang hakbang upang gawing isang service-oriented agency ang BIR, at hindi isang goal-oriented lamang.
