(Sa pagtaya ng ekonomista) PH ECONOMY LALAGO NG 6%-6.5% SA Q3

POSIBLENG lumago ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas ng 6.0 hanggang 6.5 percent sa third quarter ng taon, ayon sa isang ekonomista.

“Seasonal increase in importation, manufacturing and other production activities in preparation for the increased demand during the holiday season likely helped boost growth during the quarter,” sabi ni Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation chief economist Michael Ricafort sa isang Viber message.

“Increased infrastructure spending would also contribute to economic growth in view of election-related spending in preparation for the May 2025 elections,” ani Ricafort.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Ricafort na ang offsetting risk factors ay kinabibilangan ng mga bagyo at La Niña na maaaring maging sanhi ng ilang disruptions sa business at iba pang economic activities.

Ang ekonomiya ng bansa ay lumago ng 6.3 percent sa second quarter ng taon.

Ang third quarter gross domestic product growth data ay ilalabas ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) sa unang linggo ng Nobyembre.

Ang Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC), na nagtatakda ng economic growth at fiscal assumptions, ay nagtakda ng 6 percent hanggang 7 percent economic growth target para ngayong taon.

Nauna rito ay sinabi ni DBCC Chair at Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman na maaari nilang taasan ang growth target ngayong taon kasunod ng better-than-expected inflation data noong September.

Ang headline inflation ay bumagal sa four-year low na 1.9 percent noong nakaraang buwan.
