(Sa telecom infra) CHINESE FIRM MAG-IINVEST SA PINAS

ISANG kompanya mula sa Wuhan, China  ang darating sa bansa para magtayo ng kanilang pasilidad dito, ayon kay Trade Undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo.

Sinabi ni Rodolfo, na siya ring managing head ng Board of Investments (BOI), na ipinakikita ng investment na ito ang patuloy na interes ng Chinese investors sa Filipinas.

“There’s a company from Wuhan that is going here. It’s in the area of telecommunication infrastructure,” ani Rodolfo.

Hindi niya pinangalanan ang kompanya, gayundin ang halaga ng investment nito.

Aniya, ang Wuhan firm ay hindi lamang magkakaloob ng telecommunication services at infrastructure sa Filipinas, kundi gagawin din ang bansa bilang hub para sa iba pa nitong proyekto sa Asia.

“(It’s) more of training more Filipino workers so that we could be their hub in terms of implementing their infrastructure projects in Asean and in Asia. Large part of it is because of our workers’ capabilities and also our fluency in English. So it’s very easy for us to go around Asia and implement their projects,” dagdag ni Rodolfo.

Aniya, ang investment commitments mula China ay nagiging real investments na sa bansa.

Mula sa investment interests na nagmumula sa state-owned companies sa China, darating din sa bansa ang commercially-driven Chinese enterprises.

Kabilang sa mga kompanyang ito ang Panhua Group na nag-iinvest sa steel mill sa Mindanao, at isang electric bicycle manufacturer na nakipagpartner sa isang local firm sa pagtatayo ng sarili nitong kompanya sa Bulacan.

“They have set up a factory in Bulacan for exporting to the EU (European Union) market and for the domestic market,” sabi pa ni Rodolfo. PNA
