“DEPED officials have a lot of explaining to do as their buildings or structures ranked second highest in terms of number – privately owned structures topping the list – which were partially and totally damaged by the series of earthquakes in Mindanao.”
Ito ang binigyang-diin ni Atty. Manuelito Luna, commissioner ng Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) na nangangasiwa sa imbestigasyon sa undervalued steel importations at substandard steel.
“Our observations of the areas hardest hits by the temblors as well as inter-agency meetings in Kidapawan City and Davao City last November 21-22 yielded information which seem to suggest that those DepEd buildings and classrooms may have structural integrity issue,” sabi ni Atty. Luna.
Aniya, hihintayin ng PACC ang resulta ng damage assessment na isinasagawa ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa pakikipagtulungan ng local building officials bago komprontahin ang DepEd sa isyu.
“We will hear them out during the resumption of the hearings come January 2020.”
