PANGUNAHING pagtutuunan ng pansin ng pamahalaan ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng foreign athletes at officials sa 2019 South-east Asian Games.

Sa ginawang coordinating conference ng Southeast Asian Task Force, Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), kasama ang matataas  na opisyal ng Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), inilatag at tinalakay ang security measures at requirements sa venues, athletes’ village at hotels na pansamantalang titirhan ng foreign delegates at dignitaries na pupunta sa bansa  para sa SEA Games.

“As host country, the security and comfort of foreign athletes and delegates is our primary concern during the duration of the SEA Games. We want to make sure our foreign visitors enjoy their brief stay in the Philippines,” sabi ni PSC Executive Director Atty. Guillermo Iroy sa panayam sa kanya ng PILIPINO  Mirror.

“The name of our country is at stake. It is everybody’s concern. PNP police personnel will apply tight security measures to avoid untoward incident during the conduction of the SEA Games,” wika ni Iroy.

Dumating si PSC Chairman at Chief of Mission William ‘Butch’ Ramirez sa meeting na tumagal ng anim na oras, gayundin si Phisgoc Chief Operating Officer Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara at ang matataas na opisyal ng PNP, sa pangunguna ni Gen. Rey Lyndon Lawas, Commander ng Southeast Asian Games Task Force.

Pamumunuan ni Police Col. Franco Simborio ang Secretariat at pamamahalaan ni Region 3 Police Col. Rhoderick C. Armamento ang security at safety plan para sa opening ceremony kung saan panauhing pandangal si Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte, kasama sina POC President at Cong. Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino , Ramirez at mga opisyal ng Southeast Asian Games  Federation.

Mahigit 5,000 pulis na nakatalaga sa National Capital Region (NCR) at Central Luzon ang ikakalat sa lahat na venues para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng mga foreign delegate. CLYDE MARIANO
