SM Foundation partners with SM Offices (SM Prime-Commercial Properties and DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program in its pilot Producers Market at 2 E-com Building, MOA Complex in Pasay City.
The two-week bazaar is ongoing until July 29, 2022. It showcases fresh farm produce from alumni of SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan on Sustainable Agriculture Program; processed foods and original hand-made crafts from DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) served program participants; and Baguio farm produce and preserves, and cut flowers from private MSMEs.
Participants to the Producers Market were endorsed by SM Foundation. The Foundation coordinated with the Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Alumni from nearest cities and provinces and DSWD NCR Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) to identify participants from the marginalized/vulnerable groups.
The participants were then endorsed to SM Offices. MSMEs were invited by SM Offices to join in the activity.
The maiden Producers Market drew local farmers from Cavite, Las Pinas, and Baguio; coffee producers from Laguna, and MSMEs from Malabon and Sampaloc, Manila.
The Producers Market demonstrates the synergy among SM companies. Through the activity, livelihood opportunities are created for KSK graduates, vulnerable groups under DSWD including 4Ps beneficiaries, and MSMEs.
SM Foundation hopes to replicate the Producers Market in the other SM offices.
