SM Supermalls and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) partner to help displaced information technology (IT) workers find new opportunities at the Job Fair in SM Mall of Asia.
In its continuing commitment to support job generation, SM Supermalls in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), hosted the Project DAPAT (DOLE Action Plan and Transition) Job Fair to support displaced information technology (IT) and digital workforce.
During the two-day event at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, 70 employers from the IT business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, retail, manpower agencies, hospitality, and overseas employment agencies welcomed 865 job seekers. Of these, 136 were hired on the spot.
“At SM, we believe that each person hired positively impacts five individuals— the average number in a Filipino household. This is why we eagerly anticipate the continuous announcements of applicants who were hired-on-the-spot,” said Royston Cabunag, Assistant Vice President for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Job Fairs, and Government Services at SM Supermalls.
Since January, SM has hosted over 170 job fairs in various malls nationwide, connecting more than 100,000 job seekers with employers and resulting in approximately 14,000 applicants being hired on the spot.
