Ang hangarin para sa isang mas pinabuti na workforce ng mga Pilipino ay ­bumubuti dahil sa pangunguna ng SM Supermalls, Private Sector Advisory ­Council (PSAC), Jobstreet by SEEK, at kanilang mga partner sa ­pamamagitan ng “Trabaho Para sa Bayan: Job Opportunities Building Skills (J.O.B.S.) ­Commitment ­Ceremony” noong Mayo 9, 2024, sa SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. Layunin ng ­inisyatibong ito na tulungan ang mga naghahanap ng trabaho at mga potensyal na employer, at ­tugunan ang hamon ng kawalan ng trabaho sa Pilipinas.

Ang seremonya, na nagtipon ng mga malalaking kumpanya sa industriya, kilalang mga asosasyon, at mga pinuno ng gobyerno — kabilang ang SM Supermalls, ang nangungunang mall operator sa Pilipinas, Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), at Philippine Expor­ters Confederation (PHILEXPORT) — upang mag-host ng serye ng mga job fair at magbigay ng online job matching platform, ay nagpapakita ng isang sama-samang pagsisikap tungo sa iisang layunin.

Ipinapakita ang dedikasyon ng SM sa layuning ito. “Since January, SM has hosted more than 60 job fairs nationwide, gathering around 2,000 employers, and engaging more than 35,000 applicants, with a significant number receiving on-the-spot job offers,” sabi ni SM Foundation Executive Director Deborah Sy. “SM will continue to host weekly job fairs across various SM Supermalls nationwide with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) till November – in accessible and comfortable venues where companies and job seekers can find their right match.”
