Despite the bed weather, select business owners from Southern Luzon converged at the Seda Hotel Nuvali last October 25 for a master class organized by Pathfinders and Doers for the Southern Luzon Pest Management Operators Association of the Phils, Inc (SL-PMOAP) entitled Foundation to Creating Investor-Ready Business Plan, as launchpad to the series of master classes envisioned by their President Mr. Arthur Abiera and wife Mrs. Mae Abiera of A&B Pest Control and their education committee.
The business planning workshop was conducted by Talyer Mentor and VPX GM, Mr. Mark Saberola, a consultant at Pathfinders and Doers. It aimed to help the pest control business owners to formalize and create an effective system for their businesses.
The association’s catchy tagline, “Pesteng Hanap buhay, Piyesta Habang buhay”, embodies the aspirations of business owners, both starting up and veterans in the pest management industry, to commit to a day of learning with fellow association members.
How will the workshop helps business owners?
Owing to his experience in starting and expanding businesses, and to his decades of experience in the service industry, TM [Talyer Mentor] Mark Saberola focused on solving the problem of why most business plans fail. He laid the foundation for customer-centric and vision-driven business plans; which many of the attendees agreed were missing in most of the business plans they have drawn. Participants gave effusive feedback in response to the workshop. Some shared that it will help them professionalize their businesses to support their technical expertise in eliminating pests. Another found the financial aspect of the workshop helpful in adding fresh perspectives in evaluating their performance. TM also shared several business scenarios how the strategy and system helped him in expanding VPX, the auto servicing business, nationwide.
Master class among friends and competitors.
Pathfinders and Doers’ owner, Mr. Dreus Cosio who has been a transformational speaker for years saw how collaboration and healthy competition can sustain an industry.
He was tapped by SL-PMOAP President Mr. Art Abiera, who envisioned the series of master classes for the benefit of association members. PAD has among its diverse pool of subject matter experts, another promoter of collaborative efforts amongst friends in the industry, TM Mark Saberola, from the auto industry.
The workshop ended with a secret ingredient on how to create a pitch deck for investors using the business plan content, and to center the values of every business by having faith inside the business. A short yet important message on God’s theory of business.
