NAGPALABAS ng isang special prayer ang Diyosesis ng Balanga para ipanalangin ang ikatatagumpay ng mga lingkod ng Simbahan na kinasuhan at pinararatangan ng pagpapabagsak sa pamahalaan.
Nabatid na ang naturang special prayer ay inisyatibo ni Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos habang hinihintay pa ang hatol ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa ipinasang counter-affidavit ng apat na obispo at tatlong pari.
“Here in our Diocese, we have special prayer for our dear four Bishops as we are waiting for verdict on their counter-affidavit. We trust and have faith in God that truth triumphs and they will be freed from lies and calumnies,” ayon kay Santos, sa panayam ng church-run Radio Veritas.
Ipinadarasal ng Obispo na lumabas ang katotohanan kaugnay sa alegasyon ng pamahalaan laban sa 36 na indibidwal kabilang na sina Lingayen Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco at Novaliches Bishop – Emeritus Teodoro Bacani Jr., at tatlong pari.
“O Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are intimately involved in our life and nothing is hidden from you. Today, we come to You as we stand for the truth and united in faith. You have promised that all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. We pray for your divine intervention for we know your will is to bring forth both justice and mercy. Loving God, you see what’s going on in the life of some of our priests and Bishops. Bring to light every lie and evil plot that the enemy has planned for them. May righteous-ness and justice prevail into their situation,” bahagi ng panalangin.
“Vindicate the priests and our Bishops who have been falsely accused of sedition, obstruction of justice, and other criminal complaints. We pray that nothing in any form shall harm them or their loved ones. We also pray for impartiality to those involved in the probe so they may render conclusions based on facts. We ask in the name of Jesus that the enemy flee from our priests and Bishops and may this season of trials results in bearing more fruits,” dagdag pa nito.
“Enlighten the minds of the people attacking the clergy and the Catholic’s core of faith as a whole. We call upon upon you Lord to open their eyes and capture their hearts. Merciful God, we are confident that you will answer our prayers. We thank You and give You all the glory for everything you are and everything you are going to do, In Jesus’ most precious name, Amen,” nakasaad pa sa special prayer.
Kumpiyansa naman ang obispo na malinawan ang mamamayan sa mga kasinungalingang pinalalaganap sa lipunan partikular sa mga pastol ng simbahan na maituturing gawain ng kadiliman.
Matatandaang noong Setyembre ay naghain ng counter-affidavit ang mga obispo at pari upang pasinungalingan ang mga ibinibintang laban sa kanila.
Samantala, binigyang-diin naman ni Fr. Jerome Secillano, executive secretary ng Permanent Committee on Public Affairs ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) at tumatayong tagapagsalita sa inakusahang mga lingkod ng Simbahan, na bahagi ng gawain ng simbahan ang pangangalaga sa mga nangangailangan bukod sa pagpuna sa mga maling ginagawa ng administrasyon.
“Hindi lang naman pagpuna ang ginagawa ng Simbahan, constructive din naman in a sense na gumagawa rin ang simbahan ng mga pagkilos para matulungan yung mga Filipino,” ayon kay Secillano. ANA ROSARIO HERNANDEZ
