NAKAREHISTRO na sa Pilipinas ang Starlink satellite internet service company ni Elon Musk.
Sa isang statement nitong Biyernes, sinabi ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) na inaprubahan nito ang registration ng Starlink Internet Services Philippines Inc. bilang isang value-added service (VAS) provider.
“Starlink’s VAS registration now allows the company to directly access satellite systems, build and operate broadband facilities to offer internet services. The NTC’s swift processing of Starlink’s VAS provider registration was meant to expedite the service’s immediate roll-out,” ayon sa NTC.
Muling tiniyak ni NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba na tutulungan ng ahensiya ang Starlink para mapabilis ang paglalatag nito ng serbisyo.
Ang Pilipinas ang magiging unang Southeast Asian country na mag-aalok ng Starlink services, na kinabibilangan ng high-speed low latency satellite internet na may download speed na mula 100 hanggang 200 Megabits per second (Mbps) sa cost-effective rates.
Inaasahang maseserbisyuhan ng Starlink ang villages sa urban at suburban areas, gayundin ang rural areas na may unserved o undeserved internet access services.
