SURIGAO, SIARGAO AIRPORTS SARADO PA RIN

NANANATILING sarado ang dalawang local airports dahil sa pinsalang dulot ng bagyong Odette, ayon sa Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Sa  latest update mula sa CAAP na inilabas nitong Lunes, ang Surigao Airport at Siargao Airport ay sarado pa rin, maliban sa government/military, emergency, cargo, at humanitarian flights.

Karamihan sa airports na naapektuhan ng bagyo ay dumaranas pa rin ng commercial power at telecommunication signal loss, sabi ng CAAP sa isang advisory na inilabas via mobile message.

“To restore communication channels, CAAP has dispatched satellite phones to the airports that will be needing them most,” dagdag nito.

Sinabi ni CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio na hindi pa masabi kung kailan babalik ang commercial operations ng dalawang airports, subalit sinabi ng Cebu Pacific na maaaring tumagal ito hanggang Pebrero 2022.

Ang flights mula Manila hanggang Siargao ay kasalukuyang para sa cargo lamang, habang ang return trips mula Siargao hanggang Manila ay sweeper flights na magsasakay sa mga turista na na-stranded sa isla dahil sa bagyo.

“The situation continues to evolve. We expect the situation to get better over time, but for now, this is what we’re doing,” wika ni Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience Candice Iyog sa isang virtual briefing.

Ayon sa CAAP, kabilang sa airports na nagtamo ng pinsala subalit operational ay ang San Vicente Airport, the Antique Airport, Bacolod-Silay Airport, Iloilo International Airport, Dumaguete Airport, Maasin Airport, at ang Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

Samantala, ang CAAP-operated airports na dinaanan ng bagyo na operational ay ang Busuanga Airport, Puerto Princesa International Airport, Bicol International Airport, Caticlan Airport, Kalibo International Airport, Roxas Airport, Bohol-Panglao International Airport, Tacloban Airport, Ormoc Airport, at ang Laguindingan Airport.

Operational din ang Cotabato Airport, Davao International Airport, General Santos Airport, at ang Butuan Airport.

Daan-daang flights ang nakansela dahil sa bagyo, na lumabas ng Philippine Area of Responsibility noong Sabado ng hapon.
