NAKATAKDANG pulungin ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang transport network companies (TNCs) ngayong linggo upang talakayin ang mga reklamo ng napakataas na pasahe na sinisingil ng mga ito ngayong holiday season.
Sa isang post sa Facebook, sinabi ng LTFRB na tinawag na nila ang pansin ng TNCs tulad ng Grab Philippines at Angkas hinggil sa nasabing reklamo.
“According to commuters, some ride-hailing applications have started to charge higher fares since the Christmas season began, particularly this month,” nakasaad sa post.
“The LTFRB, in cooperation with accredited TNCs, are looking to settle this matter within the week,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa kanilang panig, sinabi ni LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III na tutugunan nila ang isyu.
“The agency is at the forefront of ensuring public transportation remains safe, convenient, and also affordable. We will look into this,” ani Delgra.
Ayon sa LTFRB, ang ride-hailing applications na ito ay may standard rate na P40 bilang base fare, bilang karagdagan sa P10-15 per kilometer at P2 per-minute charges.
Tuwing rush hour o heavy traffic, sinabi ng LTFRB na ang TNCs ay pinapayagan ding doblehin ang kanilang per kilometer at per-minute charges sa pamamagitan ng surge-pricing.
Ayon kay Arvin Lopez, public relations officer ng Grab Philippines, wala pa silang natatanggap na official invitation mula sa LTFRB, subalit tiniyak ang pagdalo ng kompanya sa isasagawang pagpupulong.
“We have yet to receive the official invitation from the LTFRB on this subject, but we will definitely comply and attend to this discussion,” ani Lopez. PNA
