TAIWAN TOURISM BUREAU

THE Taiwan Tourism Bureau recently invited several travel agencies from Taiwan to participate in a two-day travel promo on November 10-11, 2018 at the Padre Faura Wing of Robinsons Place Manila, with the hopes of encouraging more Filipinos to travel to Taiwan.

There were several performances of aboriginal dances, Do-It-Yourself beadwork and other family-friendly activities during the event. There was also direct interaction among event attendees, plus lots of dedicated stalls that featured information about exciting Taiwanese theme parks, hot spring resorts, exquisite cuisine, and other facets and attractions found in Taiwan.

Based on data from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines, there were 290,784 visitors from Philippines last year, surging 68.59% over the previous year and is still growing fast. According to Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s statistics, this year from January to August, there were already more than 285,000 Philippine visitors who traveled to Taiwan.

Aside from the different activities lined up for each session, there were also other interesting features during the event like the “Mascot Meet-and-Greet,” the “Post to Win Freebies,” and “Limited Milk Pearl Tea for Free.” Also invited to grace the event was local web celebrity director “Mark Christian,” who was asked to share his experiences of shooting a travel film in Taiwan. A series of online and offline activities were also presented, plus lots of fun and flavorful food courtesy of Taiwan’s gourmet chefs. Freebies from the Taiwan Tourism Bureau were also made available at the Tourism Bureau counter with a purchase of any package tour or flight and hotel offerings during the event.

Just don’t forget to pass by the Taiwan Tourism Information Center to redeem exclusive freebies with a round-trip electronic ticket and a copy of two-night accommodation. Or you can simply mail the necessary documents together with a self-addressed and stamped envelope, including sufficient amount of postage to receive your freebie.
