TAX BREAKS SA INNOVATIVE STARTUPS

PASADO  na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ng Senado ang panukalang magpapalakas at maghihikayat sa Pinoy innovators at entrepreneurs na bumuo ng magagandang solusyon para sa bansa.

Ayon kay Senador Bam Aquino, principal author at sponsor ng panukala, sa botong 18-0 ay inaprubahan ang Senate Bill No. 1532 o ang Innovative Startup Act.

“This is great news for our innovators and entrepreneurs! We’re one step closer to giving them the support they deserve. It isn’t easy building a suc-cessful start-up, especially in the Philippines. Still, they find ways to bring better solutions to problems in transportation, healthcare, agriculture, and other industries. Tama lang na tulungan sila ng gobyerno,”   wika ni Aquino, chairman ng Senate Committee on Science and Technology.

Kapag naisabatas, bibigyan ng karampatang suporta ang innovative at tech startups na tumutukoy sa mga negosyo na nag-aalok ng kakaiba at ma-halagang solusyon sa mga problema sa transportation, financing, agrikultura at healthcare.

“Our country has a number of promising start-ups and we need to provide them with the environment where they can grow and succeed, just like what their counterparts in other countries like United States and Israel are enjoying,” dagdag pa ng senador.

Gayundin, makatatanggap ang innovative startups ng benepisyo tulad ng tax breaks, grants at iba pang uri ng tulong, tulad ng mas mabilis na pagpaparehistro ng negosyo.

Maaari ring makakuha ang innovative startups ng technical assistance at training programs, pagkakataong ma­kagamit ng pasilidad at suporta sa patenting o licensing ng kanilang produkto sa pamamagitan ng Intellectual Property Office of the ­Philippines.  VICKY CERVALES
