Atty. Joy Rojas, a columnist of Pilipino Mirror, successfully held solo exhibition entitled “The Journey Continues” organized by Pinto Museum at the ArtistSpace, Ayala Museum just recently. The exhibition runs for two weeks from 22 February to 6 March 2022.
A born artist, Rojas was so grateful to his curator, Jim Orencio, Dr. Cuanang of Pinto Museum, Mayor Abby Binay, former Mayor of Muntinlupa and former Press Secretary Secretary Ignacio Bunye and other artists who collaborated with him in painting and sculpture like Merlito Gepte and the Saturday Group Artists. Rojas have had 6 solo exhibitions and several group shows with Saturday Group.
He is also proud to collaborate with fellow artists from Saturday Group: Roel Obemio, Lydia Velasco, Buds Concovar, Anna De Leon, Omi Reyes and Migs Villanueva, with the painting “Seven Graces” in oil, acrylic and mixed media.
His recent works has magnified his being pious, love for nature and community, earth’s representation, preservation of past memories, regard for father and son relationship as well as father and daughter bonding moments, and homage to Lady Godiva.
The paintings in the windows seem to glorify the creator of his gifts. His powerful earth colors and tones transcend and illuminate his love for nature and environment.
Rojas’ exhibit was well-attended and appreciated by his family, friends and colleagues. He is such a formidable artist unperturbed by pandemic. Rojas truly signifies his own personal journey with his art, continuing and drawing praises, truly uplifting the artists in this generation. Riza Zuñiga
