DEPARTMENT of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat inducted the reelected Board of Trustees of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Philippines Chapter, to serve for another two years.
The inductees are: Bob Zozobrado, Tourism Industry veteran, as Chairman; Tourism Undersecretary Benito Bengzon, Jr. as Vice-Chairman and Tourism Director Dakila Gonzales as Secretary General; Marlene Insigne of Southeast Travel Corp. as Treasurer; and, Atty. Apolonio Anota, Jr. as Legal Counsel.
Onelle Verzosa of Hotel Celeste/ Boracay Tropics is Trustee for Membership; Teodoro Espallardo of Altabriza Resort Boracay is Trustee for Programs; Maria Paz Alberto of Ark Travel Express is Trustee for Education; Agnes Macapia of The Soleil Group is the Industry Liaison; Simon Ang of Celebrate Life Travel & Leisure is Government Liaison; and Isabel Garcia-Lee of Henann Hotels & Resorts is Trustee for Ways and Means. The PATA Secretariat is manned by Mikhaela de la Paz.
Being the leading Tourism organization in the country, its main advocacy is to develop the culture of Tourism among the youth, which is why it currently has eight Student Chapters in Tourism educational institutions in the country: Lyceum of the Philippines University (Manila), Far Eastern University, Enderun Colleges, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, PATTS College of Aeronautics, De La Salle College of St. Benilde, Treston International, and University of Baguio.
