BUBUKSAN ng University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) ang 87th season nito sa Setyembre 7 na may temang “Stronger, Better, Together”, ayon sa incoming hosts University of the Philippines.
Ang bagong tagline ay inihayag sa Season 86 closing ceremony sa Mall of Asia Arena noong Miyerkoles ni Board of Managing Directors member Bo Perasol, ang Director of the Office of Athletics and Sports Development ng eskuwelahan.
“The UAAP is the country’s premier collegiate league. Its popularity and success has grown exponentially through the years because it continues to grow, evolve and innovate. It has introduced new sports, expanded divisions within existing sports and finds new ways to reach out and connect with its ever-increasing audiences,” sabi ni Perasol.
“‘Stronger, Better, Together’ is a call to the league to be unceasingly forward looking and creative, and a reminder that the way to continuing success and relevance is to be one.
“Our mission is to inspire young athletes to compete and strive for excellence, but always to remember that we are one harmonious family and citizens of one nation. We are all stronger and better if we are one. This is true not just in sports, but in all aspects of life,” dagdag pa niya.
“The clenched, fighting fist of the UP team logo will do something different in the UAAP Season 87 logo,” ani Perasol.
“The central visual is open hands reaching out to each other in cooperation, coming together as one team, like in a game huddle. As host, UP is at the top of the wheel and is extending the invitation to all the schools to come together and do great things for the league, for sports, for the sports community and for the country. We’re still finalizing the design.”
